I agree with Entity. You raised preflop, and you just hit what you're looking for. You'd hate to have this checked through and see 9h or Ah come on the turn.

I don't get why you posted the hand. You have the nuts. You can't lose.

Yeah, it is so god damn counter productive. Why would you want to show that much strength and show up this guy? There is no good flush draw you are driving out with the check raise, and you'll disturb the fish. By leading the flop you don't give away any information. You are just betting, to a weak player that could mean anything, so he'll be more likely to just call you down, or maybe even reraise you with his top pair.

Instead you make him rethink his play, and possibly hurt his feelings. Meanie.

No it belongs in the probability forum as proof that if you have good luck with a hand, you are more likely to have bad luck with it later so the odds balance out properly. Same reason I never pick a number for the lottery that was pulled last week.
