Do you guys think that nickel really gets shot in the next episode by the sheriff? I doubt it since that is what espn wants us to think. My guess is that the shooting happens in a different part of the show, or that Nickel was ready for it and shoots the sheriff instead.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think Nickel jumps off the top turn buckle and bops 'em over the head with a steel chair.

Then Tropical Henry sneaks up behind Nickle while cupping a handful of ninja dust, and as Nickle turns around, TH blows the dust into Nickel's eyes... rendering him temporarily blind.

The scene then cuts to Everest sitting at the 1/2 NL table where he raises ninety grand pre-flop from UTG with jack deuce o/s.

This show rocks!!!

So...they are just going to take the whole bank-roll and 'triple-up and double-up' (because that's what you do) and because they just 'know' that it's time and that they're ready.

Was there some reason they couldn't do this earlier?

All that stuff about "here...take this $20k and go sit-in on the such-and-such game somewhere and report back" was basically that McManus guy just messing with them and saying "you'll play the matador when I SAY you'll play the matador".

"he's right...it was reckless," he said in a way that somehow seems to indicate that they actually have a plan despite all indications to the contrary.

Miami has serious tilt issues and I would kick her off my freaking team.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Matador's daughter will her Daddy that he saw Eddie and Miami chumming it up at the bar and that that is how the Matador will find out they are all on the same 'team'.
to that end....if it is so damn important to make sure he doesn't find out you are in the least bit connected then why is Clark coming in and dragging Miami away from the table in front of everyone (thus establishing a connection) and why would Eddie and Miami sit at the bar together?

They could make the show much more realistic just by doing simple things like showing them take every precaution possible to pretend like they don't know each other in public....and for the Matador and Eddie to set up their signals and go through a practice-run up in his room while they are sitting and doing nothing.

Simple things.

I'm not even bothered by the poker-content....but NONE of this stuff makes any sense.
I can watch Law and Order or NYPD Blue or ER or whatever and know that that's not what typically goes on in the everyday of detectives or prosecutors or doctors.

But if it's presented reasonabl well and if it just makes a little bit of sense then I can enjoy it.

Instead, they always have to go through this mysterious 'psyching out' the opponent by just talking and talking and talking....and somehow it helps them get the card they need.
It's not just unrealistic to poker...it's unrealsitic to people in general and that's the problem i have with it

That said...it's SO bad that I just can't take my eyes off of it.

Since when do you have the tough guy also be nerdy/dorky? He's like a super hero, but he's never been laid. This guy blows, big time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed that the character is way over done. However, even as a young guy, there is something inherently satisfying about watching a bald, middle-aged white guy just beat the crap out of people.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmmmmmm.. So, your saying this is maybe what new heroes should look like?? You may have something here.

I am surprised how nobody mentioned Eddie picking up the 7-10 split. talk about unreal. It is physically impossible to make it the way that he did.

We could apply to Tilt what Umberto Eco said about Casablanca:

"Two cliches is kitsch, a hundred cliches is sublime"

Maybe it's just the lines Eddie gets, but he seriously seems like he's doing the best job at acting on the show. There haven't been a whole lot of "Eddie" moments that made me cringe.

The only one I can think of is EP#1 in the elevator, talking about the $7.95 shimp buffet, and he says "Hey, I'm saving MY bankroll for play!"

I declare Jihad on this entire God-forsaken show. Seriously. Not only is none of the poker action halfway decent, but the acting is worse than a freaking Daytime Soap Opera. After the first episode i decided it was bad but I'd give it a shot for the next couple to see if it improved or if it was at least tolerable. Nope...neither. I quit. Jihad is started. I will finish it.

I forgot about the 7-10 split.

When he left that for himself on his first roll I thought "are they seriously going to have him making that 7-10 split?"
It seemed obvious that they were...but I just couldn't believe they woudl be that stupid...I was wrong.

Sorry I didn't mention it previously....it's difficult to keep up with all of the incredibly stupid moments of that show. But it definitely didn't go unnoticed.

Possible I was just too blinded by all the other stupid moments....it's like my brain goes,

"wow...they just had Miami walk away from the table with J's full...this can't get any stupider."

"guess i was wrong...they just had Eddie make a 7-10 split...now I KNOW this show couldn't get any dumber."

"wow....the bald cop-guy is grabbing the other guy by the balls and seems to be having a pretty good time. Did this show suddenly become gay-porn? We have reached the new moron-stratosphere."

Tilt Checklist:

AA vs. KK......check.
7-10 split.....check.
old whitey beats up four thugs by himself.......check.
matador uses secret potion to turn himself invisible and listen in on the plans of the three bumbling fools trying to hurt him in a cash game.....Episode 5.

Maybe it's just me, but I think they're running out of superlatives.
