Comments?

hit the nail on the head. and how can you blame them? upwards of 98+% people do lose long term.

What if I respond to their lines by taking mostly dogs in games where I feel like they're shading to the fav? Will this cause them to identify me as more of a sharp, or will my simple avoidance of the shaded line be enough for them to identify my ability?

i cant answer how exactly they tab you as somebody who has a clue as i dont work for them, but until you show them a reason to offer you a sharp line you will get the square line.

Also, when you say "San Antonio may be the right side...," I assume you mean that betting the dog there is not the correct play, even at +10. Rather, I should be looking for a better line to bet S.A. Yes?

i know a couple of proven winners in the NBA, occasionaly they are on different sides of the same game. meanign the "right" side isnt always easy to identify. however, if you were to take SA opponent at +10 when 95% of the sportsbooks out there offered +9, it would be very hard for you to lose money long term. so in other words, if you had access to a sportsbook that constantly had a line difference of one point than what was widely available, you would win money long term just by betting against the juiced line at this book.

OK, so in that scenario, they would identify me as a sharp (over time) by the fact that I'm never laying 120 on a play where better value is available elsewhere? For instance, I can almost always get a better deal on vig with Pinnacle, so how will there ever be a worth making with Bodog (i.e., a bet that will cause them to re-evaluate their characterization of me as a square)?

the -120 was just an example. if the market line is 7 -110, pinny will probably not be to far off that(say 5 cents max either way) number in either direction. otoh bodog is offering you a full 10cents in value in the other direction.

So I take it I want to be be viewed as a square? That way, I can take advantage of shaded lines, no?

you cant have your cake and eat it to. just enjoy it while you can.

Default Re: Bodog users?

Bowmans does it as well, but they will admit it unlike Bodog. I was told by Bowmans that they won't give you the sharp line if you stay under the radar. So, if you are losing, betting pretty small, or not betting all the time, you will be fine. I am sure that Bodog is the same way. But, can't find out because they won't admit it.
