remember though that these stats are based on seeing the entire hand through to the river, which is unlikely given your holding.

Good point so that would reduce my EV by what 40%?

something like that. You have to hit the flop in a HUGE way to continue on in this hand. So any card you might catch to improve on the turn or river is negligible in calculating your EV. So, you pretty much need to flop at least two pair, which is some pretty rediculous odds. And given that your two pair will in some cases be counterfeited, i dont think your ev is nearly as high as you think.

Yeah, but he's suggesting that his call is for image purposes--i.e. I make loose calls from the BB against weak raises to keep them from stealing. That's just silly in the Party $25 NL game.

Why were you calling the preflop bet with that crap anyway? Just looks like you gave somebody some bad beats.

it was only another $.50 (min-raise) into a $5 pot, and he got to close out the betting. esp. if you think you'll get paid off should the flop hit you hard, it's an easy call.

[/ QUOTE ]

hmmm, yeah and next time I'll limp UTG with 72o in no-limit because of "implied odds"

I have to agree with his play. He's playing .5/1 not $25NL. For a .50 BB and all he pays is another .50 to call, I'd just see the flop too. Now if someone reraises another $1 then I'd have to lay down but at .5/1 I don't see why this is a bad play.

No he isn't.

Also, I think this hand is going to make second and third best hands with which hero will pay the villians off a lot more often (this isnt exactly the right word because # of pots doesnt matter, size does, but you understand) than he is going to win. I would muck this preflop ESPECIALLY with callers. EP raises aren't steal raises.
