I decided that he was on a busted flush draw, and was trying to steal the pot based on my horrible turn play and his image. So I called.

Quad 5's beats Q's up at most tables [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] If I had bet the turn, I might have saved myself some money, assuming he would have raised the turn.

If he calls my bet on the turn, then puts me all-in on the river, I can probably fold as well.

Just a poorly played hand on my part.

Yeah, that hurts. At small stakes, if you're going to balance between playing the cards and playing the player, I think you have to weigh it heavier on playing the cards.

Actually, a turn raise isn't necessary. No matter what, I think checking behind on the river is the right play since your opponent will only call/check-raise you if he has you beat.
