Viejas has autoshufflers on almost every table. I would reccomend that you forgo bankroll considerations and play 1-3 or higher. The rake at any level lower than that is ridiculously high in proportion to the pots. I can't speak for your skill level or the quality of game but I suspect playing the 100max may be even or -ev for decent tight players. If you are smart enough to consider bankroll you should be smart enough to analyze whether you can beat the game long run. BTW, i went to samohi and had plenty of friends at uni. I imagine there are a lot of kids playing online in HS these days, yea?

I totally understand your thoughts on the 1-3 NL100 situation. I almost got blinded out this sunday night due to a streak of cold cards that lasted very long. However, I just wouldn't feel comfortable playing NL200 this soon. Either way, there's tons of fish at Barona at the NL100 table that reload often, and the pots get decent sized in my opinion. I'm just wondering if there were say a 1-2 blind NL100 table anywhere.

Not that many guys I know play online. Most of the guys I know play B&M at places like morongo and barona. A lot of UCI and IVC guys I know play online though. I also hear online poker is big at Woodbridge high.

Over the summer while i was still 20 i went to the Viejas, it was kickass , actually i'd say it's probably a nicer room than a majority of the ones here in Vegas. I played in a tournament at night and did farely well mt first live tournament finished like 15th, I wanted to play NL all day and a game never started until people busted out of the tournament, thats when it gets going people wanna go from playing NL tournaments to NL cash games otherwise i sat there wasting half the day for the damn thing to get going.

bankrolls overrated. if you feel you can beat the game then just go buyin for a rack and take a shot. if you lose, its only $100, big deal.

or if you want, start building your bankroll from 2/4 or 3/6, these games are monster soft.

you attend uni and are applying to UCI, so im assuming your azn, correct?

I see a couple of you guys are from Irvine. I'm going to be there next week from Vegas and am looking for the closest card room (over 21, or under). Does anyone know which is the closest? Would LA rooms like Hollywood Park or Commerce be closer than the ones you've mentioned previously? Thanks.

The closest to Irvine is actually Hawaiian Gardens - not as big or nice as Commerce but far bigger than any Vegas poker room. All LA/OC cardrooms are closer than the Indian ones mentioned, so the only reason to make the extra travel is if you are under 21.

Ehhh, I'm not too into limit.

You're saying i should probably buyin 100 at the viejas 200nl tables? Wouldn't I still suffer from the same 1-3 rake there? are you suggesting this because of pot size?

I've played at all three and I can say that Sycuan is by far the best place for NL. Hardly ever any wait to get in a 1-2 game, and the best blind structures. Last friday, they had (5) 1-2 NL tables, (3) 2-4 NL and (2) 5/10 NL games going. It's definitely the place to go if you want to play NL in San Diego. Although I don't consider it a "con", they rarely run any specials (rackattack, giveaways, etc)

Viejas really sucks. Stay away from the 8/16 game....
