Default Underage at FW - word of warning

Played FW 1/2 NL and about mid day on sunday say 2:00pm the floor came by and asked for ID's from about half the table. Anyone under 25 or so was requested to produce ID. This is only my second time playing 1/2 NL but I have never seen them ask for IDs at any of the poker tables before and only once was a buddy who honestly looks 15 for ID'd at a BJ table.

Buddy was at 2/4 and they didn't bother going over there. Must be because of all the old rocks play 2/4 and mostly young guns in 1/2 NL.

i have been playing at foxwoods for about 6 years on and off. i have friends that were playing there when they were 17. people would open the outside (unguarded) doors and the young guys would run behind the high stakes board. i have been asked for ID only when entering the casino floor. never while at the tables.

I was there that day too. Steve came over and said "I'm going to need to see IDs from all the youngsters" Being 28, I didn't even acknowledge him, but he asked for mine anyway. He looked at it, said "wow, sorry" and gave it back. I should have known better, I still get carded for scratch tickets half the time. But, better to look younger than older nowadays, I guess...

Steve's hilarious, one of the best guys there, and much of time this type of thing is just him being bored and breaking stones.

But, yeah, if you're underaged at The Woods ... watch out, as they are getting tougher AND checking ID's somewhat regularly at the table.

Damn kids.

This is all surprising to me because I played there in a college pretty often (one semester I scheduled myself with no tuesday or thursday classes so I could make it down a couple times a week) and only got carded once which was when I was entering with a friend who looks very young and was clearly trying to avoid the security guards. We just turned around and went through the table games section that connects to the poker room. This was just a few years ago ('m class of '03). I guess the new influx of young players really has changed things. They certainly never carded at the table.

In other news, one of my friends successfully got a Wampum card using his fake ID. Their computer didn't want to accept the (bogus) address on the ID because because the zip code wasn't right for the address, but he convinced them their computer was wrong.

Wow, your friend managed to get the worst fake ID in the history of the world.

As far as the carding at Foxwoods, I was there in early january with scrub. We both got carded when we walked onto the casino floor the first day and the almost-dead gaurd decided that I look enough like my buddy who recently turned 21. The next day we went in through the table game section that and didn't get carded at all. We did get carded again on our way out when we were cutting through some slots to get to the bus. Overall it was nothing out of the ordinary and the gaurds looked like they'd likely accept a library card if you handed it to them confidently.

I would be utterly shocked if the security gaurds at FW could read the expiration date on a license.
