Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
I seem to be continually misplaying these types of hands. Any comments would be helpful. By the way, I was new to the table with no solid reads yet.
Thanks. I would fold the turn.

Re: Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
Preflop: Fold. Not enough opponents.
Flop: Microscopic pot, I fold here facing two cold, but I'm weak-tight. Turn: You're getting 6:1 to hit your sixth nut flush on a double-paired board with a small pot. Not that I'm usually afraid of overflushes, but there just isn't enough going for you here. I fold, but I'm weak-tight. River: The call is probably okay, but with no reads I think I'm raising for value and folding to a 3-bet. |

Re: Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
I'd fold this preflop, you need more limpers to make this holding profitable. You'll lose more by playing around in small pots like this than you'll win when you hit your hand.
Since you got as far as you did, I think you can fold the flop since the pot just isn't worth fighting over. Turn is fine, river needs to be raised (you can fold to a 3-bet or call depending on your read, which is important). I'd expect MP1 to show a medium pocket pair here unless you know he's loose enough to open limp with something containing a 4. However, if MP1 is bad enough to make a limp like that, he's likely to slowplay his trips because poor players slowplay at every opportunity. |

Re: Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
I think the worst thing is the flop cold call followed by the turn call.
What were you hoping for on the turn, some one to have raised the flop with A high when everyone got to see the flop for one bet and either blind could have a boat? |

Re: Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
Good question. At this point I'm counting outs. I'm assuming someone has the trips, and I'm hoping for the flush.
Is the coldcall weak because I didn't know if BB would re-raise? What am I missing? Thanks in advance. |

NEO, (Non expert opinion).
OK, you called sometimes I will call hands like these. The turn makes two pair, given the action on the flop, I am folding here. Regards D |

Re: Hit the flush on the river...but is it good enough?
Call me crazy, but couldn't MP play an overpair (55-99) this way? I think you have to see the river. The tiny pot makes it close, but that's what I would do. Once he bets the river flush card, you can't be happy but I think you have to call.

Considering the raise comes from MP1 that is a very nice observation there. I think the pot's too small to call down though.

Once he bets the river flush card, you can't be happy but I think you have to call. [/ QUOTE ] Why can't you be happy? It's not as if MP1 sprang to life when the flush card hit; he's been in the lead since the flop. I think this is just a value bet on his part, holding at least two pair, and possibly a boat. If I'm in MP1's place holding only two pair, there's no way I'm checking that river. Now that it's been bet by MP1, Hero needs to raise the river, and probably fold to a three-bet, unless he had a reason to think that MP1 was a little too river-aggro. |
