Indeed they are except they say River Poker Tour on them instead of Las Vegas.

On a sidenote, I'm from Milledgeville if you know where that is Fins? You host or know of any good games in ATL?

I have received samples of these , one of every color , i don't know what all the fuss is about. I don't like them , they are very slippery and plastic feeling with goofy colors. There has to be a better inexpensive set than these, i would keep looking if i were you.

Which samples did you get? Original Nexgen 8000s, the new ones, or the RPT chips?

The color choices on the new ones is... unfortunate.

I'm hoping that they learned on the original RPT chips and use the same process / finish on the new ones as the 8000 series Nexgens.

I struggled to find ones in the new sets that I liked more... harder because of the lower quality / feel of the RPT chips. If the RPT feel has improved, I'd make a set (for friends / family / kids) like this:

$1000: RPT YELLOW
$500: PRT PURPLE
$100: RPT or 8000 BLACK (8002 black is ok - but a distant 3rd for a $100 chip)
$25: RPT or 8000 GREEN (8002 GREEN is off)
$5: 8000 RED (RPT red is eye-searing, 8002 - 4*blue white would have been nice - the 8002 RED is off)
$1: 8000 BLUE (sharp looking chip) although the 8002 is a step in the right direction...
$.50: 8000 WHITE
$.25 / $5000: 8002 Orange

(oops looks like I only used the orange from the 8002. I hope they didn't make too many of them...)

i got the originals, and more specifically it's the color of the "edge" spots that are goofy.

The strange thing about the Nexgens (8000 series)is that the feel seems to change after "handling" them for a good while. I was not impressed with the feel when I first bought mine, but after about a week the plastic feel seemed to go away and now I like the feel. I don't know if I imagined the change in feel or not, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

didn't you spray yours with Krylon to protect the labels - could that have affected the feel? Or do I have you confused from another thread?
