Party Poker over-protecting against collusion?
Last night, a co-worker and I attempted to play at the same table on Party Poker. This was the first time we attempted this, and it was just in the name of friendly competition. Neither of us have done anything to cause suspicion that we were in collusion. Somehow, Party knew that we knew each other. When I tried to join his table, Party sent me a message saying that an association had been made, and we couldn't play together. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, my roommate and I tried it, also in the name of sporting competition (actually, if he raised me I was probably gonna turn and see what he had) (but he didn't know that).

Re: Party Poker over-protecting against collusion?
This happened to me and my roommate. I don't really think it's overprotecting though. I would rather not be able to play at the same table as him than be up against 2 (or more!) people who knew what each other had.

Ask them to loosen the restriction. They will.

Your IP address were probably from the same block.

I applaud it. I would rather have the peace of mind knowing that people can't connect with two PCs from the same subnet at once.

We weren\'t in the same room
Most of you have mentioned trying to do this with a room-mate or that maybe the IP address had something to do with it. But, we were, geographically speaking, nowhere close to each other. I live 1+hour from him. The only thing I can figure is that we might have logged on from the same computer at work in the past, and it tracked that.

That's awesome! Hopefully, they do this at Empire too.

Re: Party Poker over-protecting against collusion?
My gilrefirend has an account at Pokerstars. She called e on my lunch hour and asked if I wanted to play .02/.04 heads up. IT would not let us sit at the same table. I took this as a positive sign.

The only thing I can figure is that we might have logged on from the same computer at work in the past, and it tracked that. [/ QUOTE ] This is the problem. I once logged onto my brothers computer 500 miles away and I got the same message when I got home and tried to go play against him. They also refused to lift the restriction. |
