Default QQ in a 20+2 on a K high flop

Interested in comments on my check/fold line on the flop. Only read on villan is that a couple of hands into the SNG he complained "Only on party, I had a smaller boat", when the HH revealed he in fact didn't have a boat.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) converter

SB (t740)
Hero (t785)

UTG+2 (t945)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Thanks, BLP

I think you probably folded the best hand.

If you're going to check/fold the flop on 1 overcard don't put so much in preflop.

If you are going to put in a stack preflop at least bet the pot on the flop, putting him all in, and try and win it there. If by some miracle he does have a hand you at least get 2 more chances to improve.

Your PF raise is far too big.

If I checked this flop, it would be with the intention of calling the all in I knew was coming.

Agreed. LAP with Ax bluffing to buy the pot because he's got to "catch up or go home."

I'm more interested in your name? A Quilty fan? Or is the song a known traditional? It's a damn great song anyways! Kudos for acknowledging it.

Default OT: bisonbison converter messed up?

I doubt the converter made a typo here . So are you encountering a bug in the converter when someone is all-in as well? If so, I wonder, does the creator post on this board?

OPer, I think you should really analyze your play. You post a hand here with a very dominant PF hand, and you're unwilling to go balls to the wall here against an opponent who "called" your raise.

Whereas in your other post, you were ready to go balls to the wall with pairing the second highest card on the board.

It sounds to me like you're weak with your strong hands, and yet strong with your weak hands.

Scuba,

Thanks for making the link between the two hands.

In truth I think I folded in this hand because I was concerned I didn't have the best hand and pushed in the other because I thought I did. I'm very aware however that I've got a lot to learn about poker in general and SNGs in particular, hence my frequenting of 2+2! There've been some good comments on both of these hands I feel, and I'm most appreciative.

Emil,

I'm actually unaware of what you mean by Quilty, apoligies if this is shocking.

I've never heard the Stan Rogers version of the song (though am trying to track it down), but one of my favourite bands Weddings Parties Anything (Australian) did an a capella version to open a number of their shown on their final tour, (and possibly earlier concerts as well). They released a double CD from the final run of gigs, and the version of Barrett's Last Privateer on it is just awesome.

Quilty is a swedish group performing this kind of music. They're great, but I guess not very famous. Their version is the only one I've heard and it's great. It's also A cappella, and quite nicely arranged. Great song anyways.
