I hate the turn 3-bet because you have to call a cap and a river bet.

But isn't MP2 also going to pop the turn with any pocket pair, after a 4 rag board? There are a lot of hands that raise the turn which Hero beats, vs. only a few that will cap it.

So with no reads you don't 3-bet the turn simply because you don't want to get 3-bet? Because the board is coordinated? Because if you're behind you need to pay off?

Your response is pretty vague and sounds kind of like "I don't like the raise because it didn't work out." I'm just trying to understand the thought process I should be going through here.

If I didn't 3-bet the turn, I think I'd at least stop-n-go on the river (which would commit me to one big bet less).

I don't really object to the turn 3-bet, though. I think it's what I would have done. (And I do think that after the turn gets capped, check-calling the river is best.)

I have been running into some pretty LAGgy opponents on 2/4 lately, though.

No. There's a good chance I would too.

Edit: At the same time, I don't think there's anything wrong with the raise, especially since MP2 may get annoyed with the raise and give a lot of unwarranted action, thinking Hero is making a play.
