Congrats on the win...I just don't think the above is the right thinking. You would have 6x the amount of the 2nd in chips if you get all the SB chips.

Your probably right that the though process is flawed, and getting all his chips would be better.

Thing is, I don't know that I could have gotten all his chips. If he called here and the river is a blank, he's going to check-fold and I've gotten 10k more. Which is nice. If he's holding a single club 8 or higher and a fourth flush card comes out I get broken by the hand. This thinking is probably a leak, but at this level I'm ALWAYS getting nailed by a 4-flush on the board and some guy who called to the river with the Ace and nothing else.

So not only do I want him around. I was scared of a 4-flush on the board. And I felt he was leaning to a fold anyway, and figured I'd mess with his head a little.

Next time I'll sit quietly.

He was getting 3.8:1 pot odds and the four flush would be 5.6:1 on the river because there are only 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] left so it would be wrong for him to call for the flush and you wouldn't pay him the implied odds that he would need to make it a +CEV play

I understand that you're being constructive and do appreciate it. I definitely didn't consider his pot odds at the time, and didn't do it again when reviewing the hand. So that's something to watch.

Not unless they were friends...Collusion is only a problem if you are trying to make the play mutually beneficial. I think the OP was incorrect in his assessment that this is "benefical" to him and I think he in fact made it harder on himself, he was trying to make a play that benefited himself only. If we are going for intent, I don't think the OP had it...It does LOOK like it though which is another reason not to make this play.

With that said there is virtually no time that this would be a correct move to do the 2nd in chips. The only thime that this would be a good move is to do to a SS to keep them in the game so you can bully the other stacks.
