Re: Super System 2 review
As BlackAces said, nutpeddling is waiting for only excellent hands (in O8, these are almost always the nuts.)
Theory of Poker is indispensable for learning a variety of poker games (especially because games come in and out of fashion.) If you want specific advice on several different games, I'd go with Super System 2. Play Poker Like the Pros is awful, and will actually make your game worse if you believe what it says, because it's teeming with horrible muddy poker thinking. Ciaffone/Reuben's PL/NL Poker is a good tour through big-bet games. The original Super System has good information on a lot of games, but is rather outdated; also, though the chapters are all good, each individual one* has been surpassed in quality by a newer book (usually the 2+2 one.) --Nate *except maybe draw and lowball, because those games aren't widely played any more |
