Re: im so stupid
If he goes allin for only double your bet.. and you hold QQ, I would shoot you if you didn't call.

Re: im so stupid
Dude, you'd have to have a superhuman read to lay that down. Call, and if he has AA or KK...that's poker...

Dude, you'd have to have a superhuman read to lay that down. Call, and if he has AA or KK...that's poker... [/ QUOTE ] then why bother paying attention to players and game situations and everything else? a respected player (amazingly enough) who has only shown strong hands bets 4xbb from mp and gets called, youre telling me you would then risk all your chips with AK, JJ, TT in the sb when you still had plenty of chips against a player who has shown probable strength and another player has called that strength? what would you put the caller on? hope for AQ?medium pair?im admittedly a tourney neophyte, but i couldnt imagine this particular player in that situation not having me beat. i understand betting/raising TT, JJ, from ep to protect it, but from the sb i would probably just call the 600 more unless i had a reason to believe my hand was best.(too weak-tight?) im not adverse to playing QQ against an allin as ive done it gleefully most of the time, so thats not the problem. the problem is playing it when im quite sure im dominated. maybe i was just thinking weak-tight (as ive been accused of on other occasions), maybe a few more people can chime in. be gentle,im new |

Re: im so stupid
So it's only 1700 more for you to call. I call, but cross my fingers.

be gentle,im new [/ QUOTE ] okay. here's a decent rule of thumb. If you never laid down QQ preflop vs. a single opponent preflop, it would be very likely that you would never be making as big a mistake as the times you misappraise the situation and lay down when he has JJ. |
