Stop the Pop-Ups!!: MultiPoker Letter-Writing Campaign
Whenever I hear that Very Important Alert! beep while datamining, I rest assured that MulitPoker is yet again soliciting for a got-old-6-weeks-ago $5 tourney. Let's end the madness. Write & tell them how you hate it! support@multipoker.com |

Not to hijack, but I'm curious why you play there.

Re: Stop the Pop-Ups!!: MultiPoker Letter-Writing Campaign
He's datamining, not necessarily playing there.
Plus there's some validity to his argument. Enough people bitched about the Empire tourney pop-ups that they got rid of most of them. |

Re: Stop the Pop-Ups!!: MultiPoker Letter-Writing Campaign
This has been bothering me.
Party and Empire are Party and Empire. PokerNow and Eurobet are reasonable alternatives for people who missed certain opportunities with P&E the first time around. Intertops sucks, but there more of a sportsbook/casino anyway, and I doubt they make any serious money on poker. This begs the question, how is MultiPoker still in business? They have no virtually reloads, no marketing, no other MGR affiliates, etc. They did have the nicest looking interface (IMHO), but now anyone can mod any party skin to look like any other skin without much effort at all. |

Re: Stop the Pop-Ups!!: MultiPoker Letter-Writing Campaign
Very well-put question. Best guess: MultiPoker is barely in business to speak of, a legacy site running at a constant trickle of profit. They have few customers but also very low costs! It's probably impossible for a skin to bleed to death; after their initial start-up phase, they run at a profit. UNLESS the IGM/network charges the skin for traffic (based on, say, viewed tables)...which would make datamining + 2+2 hurt them. Multi does promote their own specific restricted tourneys, so they must have *some* actual players from somewhere! I often wonder who makes sure most of the table names on the network are misspelled. I figure that alone must be a full-time job. |

They are marketing quite hard on swedish television. Maybe they do the same on other non-US markets. Adde |

I'm sure they will love to hear from someone who is only datamining from their site.

Re: Stop the Pop-Ups!!: MultiPoker Letter-Writing Campaign
I've played some of their freerolls. Much of the chat is in a language I don't recognize. It's European and uses quite a few non-English letters. Many of the player handles and town names are drawn from non-English European languages. Their website is multilingual.
I think you see the trend. Aside from that, the support seems to be good, the aesthetics are good, and they have lots of freerolls. Remember that poker rooms are in the entertainment business. Most of their customers play and pay for fun. Freerolls are fun you don't have to pay for or feel guilty about. From a fish perspective Multi's promotions are generous with what really matters. |
