Forced compression of the SnG's intake air stream. The exhaust powers a turbine, which mechanically transfers this re-couped energy to another turbine in the intake, which compresses the intake, allowing more air to be packed into the cylinder. With more air, you can introduce more fuel per stroke, and thus produce more power.

It differs in that the blinds increase every 5 minutes instead of every 10.
