Default Early Tournament Steals Discussion

I saw a comment the other day that good tournament players will find a way to steal the blinds occasionally while maintaining a tight aggressive table image.

I find myself basically never stealing the blinds on a cold bluff just based upon position and the bets into me, and only rarely on mediocre hands that I really just want everyone to fold to. At least not until it's down to 3-4 people. I do fairly often take pots down when there's a weak flop and I was aggressive with two high cards pre-flop, but obviously this doesn't count as stealing blinds.

I'm wondering how many profitable players actually work a lot of early steals, especially in games of the quality of low-mid tourney's on party ($20-$50). If you do, is it just off the button, or do you try early and mid position steals to disguise them as legit raises better?
