While reading these posts im noticing that alot of you guys are using PT...I myself do not as I always regarded it as a tool more apt to aid in limit play.
Has it been useful for you guys?? Is it easy to use for someone like me who has avg PC skills? Can it be used on UB(I know before it couldnt be) And this might sound pathetic but could you guys explain what all those abbreviations mean VPIP??etc etc... |

at the very least download the trial version at pokertracker.com. You can learn about all the abbreviations there. Id say it was worth the money but I havent gotten nearly enough hands in yet. It can be used with UB if you download UltimateHistory (free software). Again that is something you can read about over at the website. GL

As someone who plays a lot on UB as well as Party, it's very helpful, and you should definately invest in it.

It should work with UB now, if you patch (update) the software.
Semi-easy to use at first, but you can always ask questions here or on the PT forums and you'll soon get comfortable with it The most common abbrevations, VP($)IP and PFR(%), is Voluntarily Put $ In Pot, self explanatory, and Pre-Flop Raise percentage. (Total hands / hands raised pf) |

It isn't all that useful if you know how you want to play already. The only thing I find it good for is keeping track of what hands I am making the most money with and what hands need work, but:
Take for example, the fact that after 45k hands, I am winning a ton with 22 but losing with 33. What does this mean? Nothing. It's nice to have for 55 bucks, but to be honest I rarely pay attention to it anymore. VPIP is voluntarily put money in the pot. |

In combination with playerview or gametime+ it's an tremendous tool, especially when multitabling.
Make your +EV decision of the month and buy it. |

where it really comes in handy is when multitabling because it basically makes reads for you. When you see a guy who is seeing 75% of the flops, and raising 45% of them, then you basically know he's generally raising with crap. I find that it is worth it's weight in gold. It's also useful for newer players who see hands like Q 10, and think it is good, until they look at their Pokertracker stats for it and find that it isn't so good after all...things like that.

If you add something like PlayerViewNET it basically makes reads for you.
