Default Should I be calling raises with 4 4 ?

I'm in a very juicy game right now. I folded 44 to a 6x blind raise preflop. Flopped a set of 4's on a monotone board and completed the full house on the river. The guy in LP flopped the nut flush. I would have emptied his entire stack, I'm sure of it (about $50 worth) . Should I have called that 6x blind raise preflop with 4 4 ? I know I should have that time but over the long run, will that hurt me or is it + EV . Thanks. I was out of position BTW. I was in EP and it was the BB raising so I had no idea if guy in MP or LP would have called. Thanks.

Need more information. Blind structure? Stack sizes? Whether or not you would have flopped a set and filled up on the river is irrelevant. If you should have folded pre-flop, you should have folded, but we need more information to tell you that.

I'm just going to reply to your topic.

Yes, given deep stacks, aggressive opponents, and not to big of a raise (4BB - 6BB depending on number of limpers).

If you think you can get his stack when you make your set, call raises that are up to 5% of the smaller stack between you and him. Over 10% is a definite no, and between 5 and 10% is a judgement call depending on if the pot will be multiway and if there's dead money in the pot, etc.

Thanks Mason. This is a complex concept. You said something about calling if the raise is 5 % of the smaller stack between the big stack which he was but he wasn't the one who raised. There 5 limpers and 4 people who called the huge 6x blind raise. YEAH I KNOW . Unreal. This was a regular occurence. It was a $3 raise at .25/.50 NL.

Anyway you can elaborate or give me a hypothetical situation to explain it further Mason ? I still am not totally understanding you. Thanks Mason.
