Default PT lost all my hand histories

I have definitely not gone over the maximum number of hands and I only have "My first poker tracker database". I have tried to click on "open a database" but it says that "All available databases are open". I just tried to open it and these are the three consequtive messages I get:

Could not find file C:\Programe Files\Poker Tracker V2\ptrack.mdb

Then when I click on "OK" it takes me to a login message:

Data Source: PTRACK
Aughorization: Login Name: Admin Password: this is left blank

When I click "OK" I get a final error message:

Unable to connect to the database. 100 - No data was found to satisfy the request

Anyone had this problem before, if so can you help?

I want my hand histories back

Have you tried manually checking that folder to see if the ptrack.mdb file is there. If not, I don't think all hope is lost as PT backs up the db files when it compacts, so at worst you probably only have to go back to your last backup. If you don't see the ptrack file in the pokertracker folder, I would search your computer for it. Of course, you should definitely email Pat or post this on the PT forum. He's always quick to respond.

I was told some time ago that the maximum number is 25k hands. Not sure if this is the case or not, all I know is that I haven't gone over that number.

I have posted on the PT forum now, and Pat is on the case. It appears that the main PT file has gone!! Hopefully he can talk me throught getting it back as the backup file is still there.

!!!!!!! No, that's not right. I have 70,000 in one DB, and I know people who have well over 100K.

I thought it was probably something like 500,000. Can anyone confirm?

Well it is a darn good thing you backup all your important data on a nightly basis, otherwise you might be in big trouble.

You DO backup your important data, right?
