Default Voluntarily put $ in pot at small stakes PP

what % of the time will most winning players at small stakes Party Poker games be entering the pot? I have been playing recently and using Poker Tracker and I am at about 24%. I only have 3000 hands though, and my BB/100 is about 6/100, so i think i may just be running good and thats why im entering so much. I was curious if 24% is too loose. Also what is the highest sustainable bb/100 hands for a good player at 1/2?

below 2/4 is micro

VPIP's vary by style. 17-18'ish is typical at 1/2, but it really depends when you play (the daytime is quite tight) and how you play. some here have VPIPs of 13. some are in the lower 20's.

BB/100 at 1/2.. who knows.. if you only played during the day. 4 BB/100 might be the upper range. if you played at peak hours only, 6 BB/100 might be possible. i dunno. no one really thinks about it.

24% is marginally loose on 1/2 party, although as you pointed out, your sample size is small enough that this could just be attributable to a run of good cards. Even if that is your true VPIP, I don't think it's so bad on 1/2...the games are generally passive enough that you can get away with playing a lot of marginal hands from EP preflop, and the players are often poor enough that you can get away with playing those same hands out of position postflop. Besides which, tables are generally looser, making hands like suited connectors and small pocket pair more playable from early and middle position. As you rise through the limits your VPIP should go down...I think most people would recommend somewhere in the 14-18 range for 3/6 & above, maybe 15-20 for 2/4.

There are a bazillion variables that affect your second question. In the most general terms, I think that a good player who only plays one table at a time and chooses his table well should be able to sustain a win rate of 3BB/100 or higher at that level.

thanks for the response. Yeah one of the reasons it is high is because i tend to play all pocket pairs and Axs regardless of position if the game is passive (almost always is). So I think that alone might account for my % being kind of high. What is a good Preflop raise % for a "tight aggressive" style?

I'm still a bit weak on PFRs myself, but I believe I've seen people say that ~50% of your VPIP is a good number to shoot for.

That's true when you're down around 20% VPIP, but once you start adding in small PPs, more suited connectors, and suited aces (and some kings), then your PFR shouldn't be raising at the same rate.

In LP with a whole lot of callers you will likely be raising more speculative hands for value preflop, but it won't be half of the time you're dealt those hands.

at the micro limits? they shouldn't be unless they are this guy. most move up long before the winrate is meaningful.

Well, I think your winrate at .50/1 and 1/2 probably wouldnt be that much different (in terms of bb/100). Is there that much difference in the level of play from .50/1 to 1/2 to 3/6 ? From my limited experience, the players at the .50/1 actually seem to be MUCH tighter than what ive witnessed at live 3/6 games. People actually FOLDING their blinds to raises and what not. Anyone else think the 2/4, 3/6 games are actually looser than the .50/1?
