Default Baseball Betting contest

If there was a baseball betting contest for the whole regular season that paid like $150 for first and $75 for second (no money put in by contestants), would anybody be interested in something like this?

Erm... you mean if I had a shot at $150 for no cash of my own, doing something I'd probably be doing anyways, would I be interested?

Yes.

I like the idea of free money as much as the next guy. That said I voted no in your poll because it involves paint drying, errrr I mean baseball. Baseball season is sooooooo long that I just get bored. Now if it only involved the playoffs and the Series I'd be interested even if an investment was required.

I am just checking to see if there would be interest in it. It seems that there would be. I haven't decided on the prizes but it will be at least as good as what I asked about (150 and 75).

The reason the contest would be free would be because it will be hosted on my site's forum. So, since there is ads on my site I figured it would balance out. If you guys want to increase the prize pool, we can figure out a way to do that.

I also need to come up with the rules. Every game will be based on one unit (I know it makes handicapping harder, but will cut down on confusion) and the winner is who ever won the most units. Any rule ideas that I need to make sure I cover?

Also, I am going to be keeping track of all the results (so I won't enter the contest) but maybe I could have one other person help (either in or out of the contest) to doublecheck my work. Anybody that wants to do this, PM me.

I think it would be nice to be able to submit your picks for up to one month at a time. Checking in every day to submit your picks will result in a lot of missed games from the participants.

Also I would like to be able to change my picks once submitted! Obviously this would ammount to way too much work for you so maybe have all picks be submitted in an approved format on an excel spreadsheet so that you can just copy/paste our selections and overwrite any changes...

Either way, I'm in.
