Was the reraise on the flop good? Crying call on the river ok?

I don't think I like a reraise on the flop here. You are rarely ahead here, and u have a very slim chance to improve. I go into pansy call-down mode. I am calling the river raise, same as you did. Tough hand.

Eh... I do 3-bet this flop. Villain is passive post-flop, so a call may be better, but I would like to see if he wants to cap the flop... if so... i c/f the turn. It will save you a BB. Since he did it, I like your line (except I would have folded to river raise).

I think you did fine up until the river.

Passive players don't raise here with a hand you can beat.

It's tough to fold for just one more bet though, which is good because we shouldn't be doing it very often, but I think in this spot against this guy, I think you can.

reraise on flop fine, but i would check-call river. let him try to bluff at a very scary river (2 ways to make a str8 with 1 card!). when he raises, you are almost always beat. if he had a ten with worse kicker, the odds are that it caught the board somehow by now.

Reraising the flop is correct. The river completes quite a few draws for the villian so I think you have to fold here unless villian appears to be a tricky player. If the pot was a little bigger (around 10BB or so) you would instead probably make a crying call.

Villian had 98o for the straight.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
