Re: Party 2/4, yet another question on this river
I think this is all right. You may be ahead on the turn (Button may just have you on overcards such as AK or AQ), but you could be behind AJ, a set, or even an overpair such as QQ. Since he cold-called your preflop raise, I'm thinking Button probably started with something at least halfway decent, and AJ is in fact something to worry about. Maybe he just picked up a draw on the turn with something like Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or he thinks his 88 is good, but I'd start calling down, like you did.

Re: Party 2/4, yet another question on this river
My first thought here is "SET!" Maybe of JJ or 55. I think AJ more likely raises the flop. But you never know. Anyway, I'd go into call-down mode rather than re-pop the turn. I think you did fine. I just don't think you can keep cramming top pair-not-top-kicker to a raise on the turn. But head's up, I don't fold it for 2BB either. Call down makes sense.

I would have played this exactly the same and just call it down.
