Limp, limp, hero is button w/ JhTh, I call, sb raises, called all around?
(I mean i know this is supposedly terrible, but I consider myself a solid player and I figured this could turn out to be a monster, and I know I could outplay anyone at the table post flop. Maybe stil terrible?)

Sb bets, bb calls, utg raises, CO calls, I called, then called around.
(ugh? I figure I am putting in 1 bb and I will hit 1 in 12, plus the backdoor draw and maybe catch some other way, this really sounds like I'm a fish right, but I have pot odds?????(spoken really meekly))

Turn I don't hit, its two bets to me and I fold, don't remember what took it down. I really think that this passive, seemingly terrible play was justified, did I make a mistake anywhere?

Passive is not inherently bad and aggressive is not inherently good. Is the round peg bad and the square peg good?

OK so pre flop is OK, from there then what?

The limp preflop is definately not bad, I might even raise it.

On the flop you have odds. The pot is huge, theres tons of implied action. A 9 gives you the nuts. And yes, the backdoor draw is worth something, its worth two outs. On the turn you didn't have odds, so good fold.

I actually think you played this hand very well. Remember that you can play well and not have the desired outcome. You put money in when the pot odds/implied odds favored you and you didn't when they were against you.
