Vegas games compaired to non-Vegas games??
i've heard that the action in Vegas is much more loose and a lot easier to beat than the games i play at home. Is this true? Has anyone played at other games in states/cities that don't have a lot of tables/locations to play, and played in vegas? could you tell any differences in the games..
I understand the reasoning behind it.. but still unsure. Vegas has people visiting every day of the year and go there from all over the world... when I go play around the state, i see the same people every time.. maybe 1 or 2 tourists at the tables.. the rest regulars. Thoughts?? |

play in vegas when I go down...action is actually gonna be more of the same, I mean you can find loose tables and you can find tight tables, but I guess if there had to be a difference vegas would have some more loose games due to the free alcohol, tourists, etc

Re: Vegas games compaired to non-Vegas games??
i've played in vegas, biloxi, and... wait for it..... the philapelphia mississippi indian casino. it seemed to me that the games in vegas were slightly better. it's a small sample, so don't put to much faith in that. it just seemed to me that people that are looking for something to do go to biloxi. people that are serious about gambling go to vegas. i found that there was a reasonably accomplished tournament poker player at almost every table in vegas, even the really low stakes. you're not going to see that in biloxi or somewhere similar. i was playing mostly at the golden nugget and the horseshoe. that's pretty much poker central, so games on the strip might be a little easier to beat.

Where is home?
I live in the UK but I've played in various Vegas places, the Commerce (LA), and Foxwoods. I found that the Commerce had the loosest and wildest games, Foxwoods was loose but not so wild, and Vegas (thinking 4/8 at Mirage, Bellagio, Monte Carlo here) was mostly loose passive but not so loose as Foxwoods and with most games featuring several rocks and the occasional decent player. Hope this helps. Oh, and the B&M forum would get you better answers to this question I think. |
