Default UB 25-50 hand

here is a hand i played recently in the UB 25-50 game. i have around 10k and my main opponent, the big blind, has around 5k. he seems like a reasonable player. i generally
open raise with a pretty wide range of hands so, to the extent that he has been paying attention, that may play into his thinking.

game is 8 handed and i get dealt QsQh 3 off the button. its folded to me and i open for 175. its folded to the bb who calls. flop is 7h Ts 8s. bb checks, i bet 300, bb makes it 600 and i call. turn is the 6d, bb checks, i check. the river is the 6c. bb checks, i bet 800, bb calls.

I like it overall, but I probably check the river behind. I think the value bet is pretty thin here, although if you take into account some table image considerations it may add some value.

I like the value bet. If you are opening with a wide range, the running 6's may have easily counterfitted his 7-8 or 10-8. The 9 would have spoke at some point I am sure. And JJ may call here putting you on the hands that were counterfitted.

I like the river bet. My only reservation would be will this guy check raise bluff you? If you get check raised and you know you can ditch that is one thing, but if he is a tricky enough player that he might re-pop it on what he believes to be a resteal then you might be making life difficult for yourself.

the things that made me think the river bet was worthwhile are:
- the running 6s killed a two pair type hand if thats what he had.
- his river check after the turn got checked through makes me feel a lot better about my hand.
- its easy for him to put me on a busted flush draw. this gives him good reason to think about calling the bet even with a pretty weak made hand.

i was also curious whether anyone feels like there is value to playing the flop/turn differently. i often feel a little adrift in spots like this where im trying to strike the right balance between getting value for my decent hands and not handing out free cards rampantly, while at the same time not throwing away money when someone catches a real strong hand.

I've never played that high but I love the river bet. I don't think it's that thin.
