This is a horrible way to think in this instance. I would guess 8-9 times out of 10 you are ahead the entire way. You should have lost more, not less. When you are getting action like this, nine times out of 10, it's some schmuck with q-6 that has the wrong full house, or 9-6, etc. If you lose to a higher set, that is the breaks and you move on. I probably never take my foot off the accelerator here. If you go around worrying about monsters under the covers, you won't win enough with your powerhouse hands.

The Dude:

1) There will be times when you get 3-bet on this flop, which makes you very happy. Check-calling leaves no opportunity for this.
2) A lot of players will see the turn card w/ pretty much any two, but fold there if they miss. If you wait for the turn to check-raise, you're likely going to be trapping fewer opponents.

3. MP3 may not bet the turn....that would make you very sad indeed.

Finding ways to save money when you're set-undered should be the absolute last thing you concern yourself with when it comes to improving your game. This is like holding the 5d 6d, catching a flop of 7d 8d 9d, and wondering how you could have saved money when your'e opponent flips over JTd on the river. Who cares? This happens once every 10,000 hands or so, and when it does you go off for 6-8 BB's. Big deal.

One mistake you made IMO is slowplaying the flop. What card is going to fall on the turn that a) they wouldn't pay to see if you bet/raised, and b) will give an opponent a quality second best hand? Anyone with an ace or a king is probably paying to see the turn in the party 2/4, so bet out and let them pay for it.

If a Q comes on the river you can check-call, but other than that I'm betting out.
