Mcafee's Virus Scan software has an "on access scan" feature which checks every file being read or written to by the PC (without any noticeable lag I should add) checking logs here shows what's going on... and yeah - to beat a dead horse - its notes being written to HD.

No, I sold out and purchased a Poker-Edge subscription.

yes my Party notes.txt file is 4.2 MB's chuck full of goodies I'm not getting rid of that!
then of course I still export PT stats once a week..one of these notes.txt files called "PTY_AFF_Notes_date_1.txt" is 4.8 MB.

A comibined 9MB of necessary information which I can not delete.

FYI, IINM, the "PTY_AFF_Notes_date_1.txt" file is just a backup that PT makes when it exports notes. It's not entirely necessary to have it there, but theres not much reason to delete it. It isn't part of what is causing the slowdown on exit. I went ahead today and deleted about 8 of those backup files and kept the most recent one.

Anyway, I don't think killing the process while it's churning messes anything up that I can tell. But if you've taken notes by hand during the session, you will have to let it finish if you want them saved.?

B.

are you sure about that? because the times that I have deleted these files I'll go back into the client and I will be missing notes....I dont think this is right but I could be wrong..

Once I got on my tables so fast that a guy I knew I had notes on did not have a note indicator. A few seconds later it appeared. His name happened to begin with a Z.

On a related note, Eurobet opens its steeeeenking splash screen in a new browser window. Highly annoying. Anyone have an idea of how to prevent this?

Here's PTrackPat on the subject:

Poker Tracker will not touch the notes file unless you actually run the export or export of advanced notes. Before it does this it makes a backup copy of the notes file as well...the file would be named PTY_AFF_Notes_<date>.txt
