Help me, I berate the fish...
After a long weekend of bad sessions and horrendous bad beats, I have become a little irritable with the fished....advising them to keep playing Q9o, K4s, to 3 or more bets preflop. Anyone have any advice on how to keep fish rage under control.

Turn off chat.
If that doesn't work, try breaking something. Preferably, something that doesn't cost a lot of money to replace. |

Re: Help me, I berate the fish...
Be a table coach, and help educate the fish whenever they bad beat you (whether due to rage, ego, golden rule, plain stupidity, or a combination). Eventually they'll start to pick up on it, and start playing better hands. Then even though you'll make less money, at least you can now be happy that you'll get bad beat less.
In fact if you can get enough people to tighten up at the low limit game, then maybe you'll now have to be playing perfect poker to break even after the rake. That's better than making money over fish who bad beat you too often, but that you make a killing off of in the long run. OR... Grow a brain, shut your hole, and make more money. |

A man after my own heart. How did the 24 hour session go? You should try it in a casino if you never have. |

Keep PT open and look up your long term stats and realize the fishes' luck isn't even a blip on the radar. Post a rant on RGP Vern |

Re: Help me, I berate the fish...
The 24 hour challenge was a weird kind of blast. Really dumb and pointless, performed at the worst possible time in terms of my mental and physical state, and only fun in that abstract f[/b]uck the grind kind of way, but also very satisfying in its pointless simplicity.
It kind of burnt me out, which I think was actually good. I've been spending only a small amount of time on 2+2 and have played only 3 hours since it happened on Sunday/Monday. In the end, I think it reminded me that I've got to be renewing my goals constantly or I'm going to get bored to death with the grind. I think I've just about learned all I'm ready and willing to learn while multitabling 3/6 full. By the end of February, I want to have 500BB for 5/10 full and 300BB for 1/2 6-max. Assuming I want to pay my bills as well, that'll mean about 15-20 hours each week til the end of February. I don't see any reason why I can't do that. |
