Default Heads-up Draws

Two hands - Stars $10+1

1st-
Blinds 400/200/25. K9s in SB/Button with T$3500. I raise to 800. BB (T$10000) calls. I flop four to the flush. Opponent pushes.

2nd-
Blinds 200/100/25. JTs in SB/Button with T$5000. I call. BB (T$8500) checks. I flop open-ended straight. Opponent pushes.

I called both of these - and lost both. I put both opponents on made hands. The 1st, I figured 2-1 to double up from the short stack was worth the call. The 2nd, the stacks were probably too close and I screwed up (hey, that's why I'm playing the $11s).

Was either of these a good call? What if opponent bets half pot? Or full pot? Should I just be folding draws at this point?

The 1st - I don't remember the board or what opponent showed. Just remember that I lost.

The 2nd - board was Q9x. Opponent showed Qx.
