Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
Are there any of her books in Cliff note versions? I'm too busy trolling to read her doorstops

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
I have read "The Fountainhead" once, and "Atlas Shrugged" at least three times.
AS is one of my favorite books to this day. |

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
kagame asks about the think tank that I work at. It is called The Objectivist Center. It is currently located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., but we are moving to Washington, D.C., shortly. We produce books and articles about philosophy, cultural commentary, political commentary, put on seminars, sells books and have a website--among other things. Our website is Objectivist Center It is unlikely that we will have internships this year, but may have some in the future.
tek asks about Cliffs notes for Rand's books. They exist for Atlas Shrugged , The Fountainhead and Anthem. It would be silly to read the Cliffs Notes for Anthem though since it is so short. Ragnar |

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
Atlas Shrugged can be bought on CD. The box says unabridged, but I have my doubts. I gave it to my brother for Christmas and he is loving it. He has a 1 hour, each way, commute and calls me every day to talk about that day's developments. I got it at Barnes and Noble.
If you want to get started on Rand's work, you can start with Anthem or For the New Intellectual. These books are quick reads. For the New Intellectual is Rand's abridged version of her bigger novels. There is also a movie of The Fountainhead--must be sort of 1950s vintage. |

Who is John Galt? Didn't he used to be John Rand?

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
I'd imagine the Cliff Notes to Atlas would be 200 pages.

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
The Cliffs Notes to Atlas are 129 pages. The Cliffs notes to Anthem are 83 pages. The book is 123, but the type is bigger in the Cliffs Notes than in the book. I suspect that there are more words in the notes than in the book.

Re: The Fountainhead and the like...
Do you know when the Cliff Notes for just Galt's speech are? I got bored after the first 150 pages of it.
