Responding to a pot sized river bet?
This was a $10+1 SnG, Blinds (25/50) in Pokerstars.
BB had t1800 SB had t4000 Preflop: Hero is the BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB completes, Hero checks. Flop (t125): J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets t50, Hero calls. Turn (t225): 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets t50, Hero raises to t150, SB calls River (t525): 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB bets t500, Hero ??? It was pretty early in the SnG and I have no reads. If I think I am ahead, is the right move to call or push my last ~t1500? Is this one of those cases where if I push the river, only a better hand will call? I still had quite a bit of fold equity. To turn this around, if you are SB and someone raises you twice, what kind of hand would you need to call? |

Re: Responding to a pot sized river bet?
Raise the flop.
No point in pushing the river as a better hand will not fold, and a worse one will not call. |
