Re: What I Learned From Tonight\'s \"Tilt\' Episode
You can't forget this!
When you are trying to put your opponent on a you need to say it out loud. Then actually visualize the cards as if they were right side up. The tough part of course is figuring out which one is the 6 of spades and which one is the 6 of clubs. |

Re: What I Learned From Tonight\'s \"Tilt\' Episode
I'd be very interested in seeing what pros like Paul Phillips or Daniel N think about the show in terms of how it characterizes the game. Did Daniel know how bad it was when he agreed to do a cameo? And I didn't even watch it!

It's not completely unreasonable to comment that you think someone is bluffing when you have a very strong hand like Ace high flush and then raise them. Well at least online it works.

Re: What I Learned From Tonight\'s \"Tilt\' Episode
Jesus, just watched the "behind the scenes" for the series, the creators basically had this to say, "the response from the poker community has been great, because of all the dead money and bad players that it brings in who want to get on TV."
Talk about tapping on the glass... |

It's obviously normal in Vegas for a 12 year old girl to win $14,000+ pots. This happens everywhere. [/ QUOTE ] I do remember stories from Jennifer Harman at 12 getting her dad back to positive after losing sessions. Not saying that this show isn't over the top melodrama. Yet, so is Rounders. I still remember when that movie came out and I thought it was real that there were guys so good at reading they could call out what everyone at a table had. There are so many fish that will now think that you can win pots with 34 and 106 and 64 all the time. How can this not be a goldmine? Take the show for what it is worth. There are no insane poker moments that could never happen. Granted they are all exagerated, but this is TV. Sorry, how many sports writers bitch about how Everybody Loves Raymond is so unrealistic. I mean the guy is a sportswriter and his wife never lets him watch sports. I mean how can he write a column. I'm calling up CBS to complain. Newsflash, TV is over exagerated crap. This show was actually a little better than the promos made it look. But still crap. Watch it or don't, but this show will serve it's purpose. Guys who have no idea what they are doing think they can look through the cards and play their sucker straight because they *know* you have top set. |

Negreanu was actually featured earlier in the intro to the show... shooting craps of all things. [/ QUOTE ] Yea, they even screwed that up. TJ is the guy with the Craps leak! |

Also, perhaps you need to take a hard look at your life when your mother asks you, "How is your father?" and you respond, "He's playing the 2/4 at Foxwoods."
