Re: Ted Lawson
For those of you who have not been around.....
Short term luck happens. Anyone can get lucky or hot and win a tournament. There are a number of supposed "pro's" who truly do not understand relative hand values. But sometimes they get lucky and sometimes complete noobs get lucky too. Yes, through an entire tournament. |

Re: Ted Lawson
I've got to agree but a big part of tournament poker is lucky. And lucky at crucial times is very important. It's like in sports when they say the calls even out, analagous to tournament poker saying it evens out. The reality is it doesn't even out (unless you're TJ and playing every event under the stars).
This is why the high limit player laugh at the tourney pros. Winning tournament poker involves lots of luck and I don't think many can endure the swings |

Re: Ted Lawson
[ QUOTE ]
How is this guy in the top 15 of chip count after Day 2(3)? From watching the few hands of the Omaha WSOP, he looked liked a horrible player. Anything at the tourney who has played with him, your thoughts? Is he getting lucky again? [/ QUOTE ] i played at his table during part of the tourney.. One particular hand helped him alot.. He was a MP raiser with another 42k in chips in his stack. Greg Raymer, who had about 20k more chips than Lawson at the time, was in the SB and went all in with QJs and was immediately called by Lawson with AA.... |
