KK facing aggression multiway - HELP!
I have no idea how I should have played this hand. Too passive? Too aggressive? I don't know.
Villian (MP3) is pretty new, so no real reads other than loose. Passive or aggressive I'm not sure. Other are loose passive. Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 3-bets, CO folds, Hero caps, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls. Limp re-raise throws me for a loop and for some reason AA flashes in my head, although I'm still gonna try to push this hard unless I catch a real bad flop. Flop: (25.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 3-bets, Hero calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. Could be worse - no ace. I think I should have capped this as my equity is huge against this loose passive field, even if he has AA, correct? Not to mention the fact that I shouldn't assume AA just yet. Turn: (20.25 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. Now I'm just confused. Raise here and just call a 3-bet? The pot is too big to fold at this point, so raising and folding to a 3-bet can't be right. If I raise, I force the rest of the field to call 2 cold and they're probably not going to fold in this big of a pot, so a raise would just build it. What do I even want here? Do I want more players in or less? A bigger pot or a smaller one? Bah! River: (25.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 checks, Hero checks. What?? MP3 checks? Did he miss his flush draw with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ? Should I bet this? Did I counterfeit someone's 2 pair? Did someone hit trips and is going for the check-raise assuming MP3 will bet again? What if I bet and someone (especially someone other than MP3) check-raises? The pot is too big to fold even at that point and I would have to make a crying call, correct? I am lost and check behind. Final Pot: 25.25 BB I need help on every street here people. Did I play too weak? Should I have folded earlier? I dunno! HELP! |

Re: KK facing aggression multiway - HELP!
There is zero chance that you are folding this one. There is just too much in the pot to let her go. I raise the turn and call it down if I get 3-bet. Bet the river when everyone checks to you.

Re: KK facing aggression multiway - HELP!
Definitely bet this river, it looks like MP3 missed their flush.

I think you may be seeing monsters. Yes KK can lose but you'll win more than your share with Cowboys.

Re: KK facing aggression multiway - HELP!
Directed at orig. poster right? Oh yeah and the Limp reriase doesn't mean [censored]. It = 2 cards, probably playable. Certianly not aces. The fact that he was going big postflop probably means that he is an idiot who overplayes marginal hands (hence the LRR) rather then the fact that he has a good hand (which he would just raise preflop).
Yeah, this hand is pretty easy to play. You have a damn good hand in a big pot. Play aggressive and don't fold unless it comes down real bad. Always bet when checked too. If someone has 2-pair, who cares. People will call with just about anything on the river in a pot this big. Brad |

Re: KK facing aggression multiway - HELP!
Yeah, I played this bad. So I should have raised the turn and bet the river. Should I also have capped the flop?
Also, how much would I need to tone down the aggression if a 3rd club hit? What about if an ace hits? Would that be "coming down real bad"? Should I then just call down? Folding would still be wrong, correct? |
