Re: My new B&M showdown style
[ QUOTE ]
For those of you who haven't seen this, imagine the cards sitting on the table in front of me. I grab the edge of the cards closest to me. Then I slowly tilt the cards up like so: (me -- ) (me / ) (me | ) until my opponent can see them. AWESOME! I predict this will be commonplace at casinos in the not-too-distant future. [/ QUOTE ] this is highly disappointing coming from the esteemed ElDiablo. there are many here who look up to you as a true original...a leader, in fact. to think that you would stoop to emulating a scene written by a pansy hollywood screenwriter....very sad indeed. we expect greater things from you, El. Re: My new B&M showdown style
is it possible that the matador is open folding his pocket kings against pocket aces... and that's why he does it like such a hardass?/??/ that would be [censored] awesome
In hollywood NOBDOY get's AA when you've got AK! And if you're the star, you somehow never have to fold because you're blessed with top cards in EVERY hand |

Re: My new B&M showdown style
Same thing with what I've noticed to be a new fad among tools, namey just showing ONE card that they need to win the hand when it's a common rule at B&M rooms that BOTH cards need to be shown to win the pot.
I've been seeing more and more of this lately and it really annoys the hell out of me... It's a shame that some people's only dealings with poker before they get to the table are TV and online and they never even take a glance at a rule book. A lot of them don't seem to have a firm grasp on the rules by the time they get to a real table. I don't know how many times I heard 'show one show all' before I even got to a B&M, plus I read it in the nice short rules chart when I got there. How do people miss this? In fact, most casinos i've been to actually have that posted plainly on their rules at the desk. I've been seeing a lot of slow rolling and showboating at the tables lately. One guy just yesterday tried the 'show one card' thing and got confused and defensive when everyone said he had to show both. Like it was going to make a difference in how people read him if they didn't see his second card.. |

It is used when people flash what they have after either folding or after everyone else has folded. Doesn't change the fact that at showdown you need to show 2 cards to win |

Re: My new B&M showdown style
ditto the one card show, i think it is a sort of slo roll itself (the two things that tick me the most, although OPTAH is close). last time a guy showed me one king to go with the two on the board i waited to see the other card when he didnt show it i slung the first king on the floorasking what else he had(bad jason bad boy). one cure that works is to let a one card shower think they have won the pot and then resloroll them as hard as possible, let their arms get around the pot even. although neither of these will go over well in the casino/ might get you tossed for the day etc.... showing one card especially when it beats me really pisses me off, along with the guy that waits for everyone else to show ( even out of turn ) for dramatic effect. im getting better now though ineed to take more trips to tiltless..............
