Default SSHE explanation?

I was rereading SSHE last night and came across a discrepency I can't reconcile... I'm at work and don't have the book in front of me so forgive the lack of direct quotes, but in the discussion on pre-flop play Miller discusses the fact that the better unsuited high card hands tend to make more money from the bad hands in multiway pots than they lose from the multiway action. My confusion comes from KJ. Again forgive my lack of precision but it seems to me Miller advocates playing the hand for its high card strength against multiple opponents, but later, in the discussion on domination advocates mucking it.

I tend to muck KJ against multiple opponents in most circumstance, but since studying SSHE I've found myself loosening up quite a bit pre-flop and it's been to my advantage.

Generally, when I feel I find a discrepency in any of the 2+2 books a closer read reveals where I was mistaken, but I can't find it here. Can anyone shed some light on the subject.

My Thanks

Default Re: SSHE explanation?

I think that when KJ is up against a raise, it is almost lways behind and often dominated. Playing a dominated hand in a small pot could cost you a lot of money. In late position, with no raise, there is a good chance you are not dominated and thus have very good strength with your high cards -- a J or K on the flop (with no overcards, obviously) will often make you the best hand.
