Default So you want to go straight from .5/1 to 2/4.... (stats)

I didn't (I played roughly 10K at 1/2), and I'm still having a hard time winning there. Your mileage may vary.

That's pretty rough. How common are those type of swings?

Also, why are you raising less preflop at 2/4?

I think that everyone should have a 300BB stopover at 1/2 before proceeding to 2/4. The games are different, but very beatable. And, from what I've been told, you get skills necessary for higher limit games.

Well, it's only 0.3% less, but I can attribute that to folding hands like AJo, AQo and KQo when it's been raised in front of me.

At .5/1, people will limp more often than raise, so I have more opportunity to raise these hands first in.

I'm beginning to see that the play at .5/1 is really a lot worse then any other level on party. I just kinda figured that it got a little bit tougher as you move up (I started playing at 3/6), but that is clearly wrong.

I think that players get into a lot of bad habits at .5/1 that don't work so well at higher levels. If you were to play .5/1 for the rest of your life you should play one way, but if you plan on moving up sometime you should adjust your game so that you don't win the max at .5/1 but you will be ready to move up when the time comes.

That sucks dude. I have felt about the same way you have for a long time. This game is [censored] tough to crush.

Brad

As for your stats, it looks like you are doing a lot of folding after the flop. Are you just running really bad?

I think so. Which has contributed to less than perfect play in some instances.

Does anyone know how I can sort by date accurately in Excel? I'd like to post a graph, but the dates keep sorting in a retarded fashion (IE 12/31 before 12/7).

When you export from PokerTracker use CSV instead of native Excel format... When PokerTracker saves the Excel format it screws up the dates and saves them as text instead of actually dates which is why they don't sort right.

When you go through CSV instead then Excel properly reads the dates.

Nevermind. Figured it out.

Here's the graph. The Y-axis is $$$$, not BB. So if you look at the whole thing, it's only -17 BB, but since about Dec, it's a -142 BB slide.

That's tough. I'd say you've been on a bad swing - judging from your numbers you look like a winner.
It could be true that you've picked up some bad habits at 0.5/1 though. Try 1/2 out for a while.

(Maybe you could loosen up a little and showdown some more?)
