Re: Overall a Winner, But the swings are too much
Hi,
Thanks for the tip. I think I could spend more energy and actually record my notes on the players. Do you have any recommendation for the format of the notes? Hmmm, I'll want to know Tight / Agressive - Raise with anything? - Raise with good hands - Chip Stealer / Not a stealer - Raise only with high quality hands - Calling station Would a "Agressive" ranking system work do you think? (1 - 10 range) There's lots of information that could be useful, but I'm not sure if anything is as important as that info. But I'd love to hear everyones suggestions for notes on players in tourneys. (Specific to tourneys) |

Hmmm, I'll want to know Tight / Agressive - Raise with anything? - Raise with good hands - Chip Stealer / Not a stealer - Raise only with high quality hands - Calling station [/ QUOTE ] what I try to do is write down as many "distinctive" plays as I can that a player does. I always start my note with the type of game I'm in. for example, "10206" (for 10/20 6max), or "200+15" for the tourney. an example of some of my notes: "200+15 open limps, then raises PF @lvl4 with AA occassionally completely overreraises PF in SB (usually QQ or better?) huge allin in BB against many limpers with JJ" "200+15 open limps a lot at high levels...K2s, etc. doesn't autobet position at all, etc. does min-bet river when playing the board...dumb" "200+15 likes to open raise min at multiway flops out of position calls foolishly weak, min-stop and gos river with just top pair A, 8 kicker" for me, I just want as much "raw" information as I can have when I need to make a delicate decision. to try and categorize someone's aggressiveness on a scale of 1-10 isn't as useful as knowing in which types of situation a player is known to be overly aggressive, etc. hope this helps. |
