I had two situations in the same day that were similar... Had a set of 6's get busted by a set of A's, and a set of 3's get busted by a set of A's. Oh well, what are you gonna do??

Just want to point out in the last hand Villain's play was -EV. He spent $14 to chase a set on the turn when the most he could win was $150. That's retarded. Let's hope he gets all warm and fuzzy after this hand and continue to chase set down to the river in the future.

RYL,

when you check raise the turn all in with AA, do you often find that people call you with other overpair hands like KK, QQ, JJ, TT ?

I don't play that often at these limits so do they call you often enough with lower overpairs often enough to make up for the times that you lose to the set?

Also, on the first hand, why no raise on the flop? I can understand that preflop you wanted to trap with KK instead of announcing your hand but why no raise on the flop?

especially with fairly deep stacks, I'm not sure I want to play for all of my stack with single pair hands.

Yeah, it seems like in those check raise scenarios, you're only going to be called by someone who has you beat. Why not bet a smaller amount, and find out?
