Default Vegas: nightlife?

Hey all,

Going to Vegas in a few weeks (Jan 20) -- I've gotten a pretty good idea from the forum where to go to play poker, but what about nightlife (I'm 22)... My friends say the Hard Rock is one place to hit up... any other suggestions (esp on the Strip)?

The Hard Rock is a bit out of the way (you won't be walking there), but so is the Palms, which I guess is the place to be if you're in your 20's.

Many of the major casinos these days have a hip ultra-lounge or nightclub to hang out at at night, if you are into that. Some of the more well known ones are at the Palms, MGM Grand, Luxor, and Mandelay Bay.

The new club (I forget the name) at Treasure Island was off the hook when I was there in September. Plenty of fine looking non-whores showing plenty of cleavage.

The T.I. you mean? That would be Tangerine, and it has a line inside the casino every night for hours. Find out what time they open, be prepared for a $20 or more cover and get there early. It's a beautiful club with the only indoor/outdoor area to drink/dance in. It overlooks the strip and lagoon out front.

just go to the bar in the center of the casino at the hard rock...no line, no cover, lots of women, still have the sweet sounds of gambling along with the piped in rock music, get to overhear rob zombie asking some buddy of his how to play blackjack.

"ICE" I believe it is called. The new "mega" club in vegas is supposed to be pretty cool.

And it only costs 1 Big Blind at the 20/40 table to get in.

A truly weird feature of that bar is the acoustic set up. If you are seated AT the bar itself, you get a clear reception of at least one conversation taking place all the way across the (circular) bar. Until you get used to it, it is pretty spooky.

Well's there plenty of places to go to:
Some places are better on certain nights though:

Light @ Bellagio
Caramel @ Bellagio (more of a lounge)
Drais:Afterhours (Opens around 2am I think) @ Barbary Coast
Palms: Rain (huge club, some people love it....I'm not a big fan of the huge places but lots of talent)
Ghostbar: great view of city
Hard Rock: Just opened their new club Body English, a few months back (It's basically Baby's (their old club) w/ a new name and harder to get in
MGM Grand: Tabu, it's a lounge
Mandalay Bay: Rumjungle also on Wed. I think they have a club called Dragon @ an Asian restaurant (forgot its name)
Rio: Voodoo Lounge (awesome view)

Avoid OPM in Caesars Mall at all costs

formerly known as "Drink".

This is not a neighborhood to wander around in however on foot. Park in the ICE lot or cab it and do NOT mix it up with the locals from the apartments next door.
