Default PP 6-max NL100 JJ UTG

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter

UTG ($103.8)
MP ($182.95)
Hero ($99)
SB ($58.45)
BB ($196.4)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $1. MP posts a blind of $2.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $5</font>, SB folds, BB calls $5, UTG (poster) calls $4, MP (poster) calls $3.

Flop: ($20) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $5</font>, MP calls $5, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $20</font>, BB folds, UTG calls $15, MP folds.

Turn: ($65) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $30</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $95

I feel like I butchered this hand. Was the PFR too small? Maybe $7? And flop raise too small? Maybe $35?

I don't really think you played it bad. Just a bad card on the turn. Pretty easy to put him on top pair there off the flop. Mabye A9 or even K9s. Had to fold the turn.

As for preflop, I usually raise 4x the BB, to $8. Mabye even to 10 here after the limpers.

Other than that, no other way to play it.

I liked the flop raise to 20, i'd have done the exact same.

The preflop raise to $5 was just chumpish. $6 is the bare minimum, but personally, when I'm first in, I'll raise to $8, and more if there are limpers. You'll still get action, and if you don't get action often enough, change tables.

The rest of the hand looks good.
