Default Charity Whoring

BonusWhores.com will be awarding $33 to each of the top 3 finishers. This $33 is to be used in a MTT or SNG of their choice, where 50% of the prize fund should be donated.

Also, Absolute Poker is running a tourney as well (http://www.absolutepoker.com/announc...ami-relief.asp). It's a $20+5, and they'll match your $5 fee. So, $10 from each tourney goes to the fund, and the total tourney prize pool is distributed to the players. Obviously, AP could end up adding thousands here, so, figured they deserve some mention.

I know that things are difficult for many people in the States, but frankly, there's simply no comparison between the worst of what people are going through here and the worst of what people are going through in the wake of the tsunami in various parts of Asia.

Kudos to GM and everyone else participating in this good cause.

Rhone.

1. we are SOOOO far over 1k it is not even funny

2. the money is going to the international red cross because the american red cross may actually use it to go to vegas

3. a poker tourney for families of troops that have been killed is a great idea, and maybe we will integrate some sort of charity event into the ISOP

Why not make this a monthly deal or bi-monthly tourney.

We could pick a charity and play the tournament for that charity. Change up every month.

Giving doesn't just need to happen when something like this happens.

Great idea that has gotten buried a little bit here. I'd be all for a regularly scheduled charity tournament! Perhaps this is something that needs its own thread and should be discussed after the Tsunami Relief tourney, but I thought I'd reply just to keep the idea fresh in everyone's mind.

Newbie, and I am in. I will also donate 100% of my winnings (but who am I kidding I'll be out before the 3rd level probably) should I luck out.

Fantastic idea

Default Hi

Granny,

I don't think I can play as I will be abroad. However, for every player knocked out by Qs5s I will donate $5. If anyone knocks you out with this hand, that will be an extra $50.

Regards,

Dean
