Obviously each of these groups has a small sample size, but I think there is something instructive in these stats: every group which is agressive postflop is better than all groups which are not. In fact, they're all winners, all by a significant margin.

Ya. Passive post-flop is not the way to go. I'd love to see stats like this from Illuminous, he's got something like a-ba-zillion hands at .50/1.

you should filter by minimum hands played as well (like 50 or 100). someone with 10 hands who was dealt one monster and played aggressively postflop shouldn't tip the scales of the LP-A players.

Are you sure? Is aggression cause or effect? Does a player getting good cards get rated as aggressive because he has the confidence to bet or raise? Being a winner could imply aggression, but aggression does not necessarily imply being a winner.

The only group that is known to be aggressive in the face of bad cards is the 2+2 group!

FWIW, my A's also show winning BB/100.

i have LP-A's with:
at least 25 hands: avg 2.41 BB/100
at least 50 hands: avg .82 BB/100

2+2ers with:
at least 25 hands: avg 2.25 BB/100
at least 50 hands: avg 2.47 BB/100

50 may be better (i don't have enough ppl with 100).. 25 may be too small.

Not that these stats really mean anything as I believe even the biggest database out there right now is probably too small of a sample size, but it's fun just the same.

Ok, here is what I have in my .50/$1 database of 21,505 players and a total tracked hands of 1,057,216. I used a filter of at least 50 hands played. I sorted them from biggest winners bb/100 to biggest losers top to bottom.

Elephant LP-A: 67.46% winners 32.54% losers 9.33 bb/100
Taz LA-A: 60.87% winners 39.13% losers 5.79 bb/100
Smile sLA-A: 65.19% winners 34.81% losers 5.84 bb/100
$$$ TA-A: 67.89% winners 32.11% losers 4.98 bb/100
? sLP-A: 63.30% winners 36.70% losers 4.66 bb/100
Mouse TP-A: 59.61% winners 40.39% losers 1.94 bb/100
Eagle TA-N: 54.07% winners 45.93% losers 1.78 bb/100
! TA-P: 41.03% winners 58.97% losers -0.97 bb/100
Frown sLA-P: 39.15% winners 60.85% losers -0.97 bb/100
Phone sLP-P: 44.06% winners 55.94% losers -1.57 bb/100
Rock TP-P: 36.92% winners 63.08% losers -2.23 bb/100
Fish LP-P: 39.42% winners 60.58% losers -6.20 bb/100
Dice LA-P: 37.90% winners 62.10% losers -7.71 bb/100

Ok, now with only players I have at least 100 hands on:

Elephant LP-A: 63.79% winners 36.21% losers 6.45 bb/100
$$$ TA-A: 71.43% winners 28.57% losers 5.05 bb/100
Taz LA-A: 60.40% winners 39.60% losers 4.89 bb/100
Smile sLA-A: 63.89% winners 36.11% losers 4.87 bb/100
! TA-P: 45.45% winners 54.55% losers 2.44 bb/100
? sLP-A: 53.25% winners 46.75% losers 2.12 bb/100
Mouse TP-A: 61.71% winners 38.29% losers 1.88 bb/100
Eagle TA-N: 54.70% winners 45.30% losers 1.80 bb/100
Frown sLA-P: 46.59% winners 53.41% losers 0.44 bb/100
Phone sLP-P: 44.86% winners 55.14% losers -0.65 bb/100
Rock TP-P: 44.63% winners 55.37% losers -0.75 bb/100
Fish LP-P: 38.27% winners 61.73% losers -5.72 bb/100
Dice LA-P: 39.93% winners 60.07% losers -5.89 bb/100

And now with at least 200 hands tracked:

$$$ TA-A: 75.36% winners 24.64% losers 4.68 bb/100
Elephant LP-A: 66.67% winners 33.33% losers 4.59 bb/100
? sLP-A: 60.87% winners 39.13% losers 4.09 bb/100
Smile sLA-A: 67.65% winners 32.35% losers 3.94 bb/100
Eagle TA-N: 67.14% winners 32.86% losers 2.29 bb/100
Mouse TP-A: 64.63% winners 35.37% losers 1.69 bb/100
Phone sLP-P: 44.62% winners 55.38% losers -0.57 bb/100
Frown sLA-P: 40.00% winners 60.00% losers -0.71 bb/100
Taz LA-A: 36.36% winners 63.64% losers -1.03 bb/100
Rock TP-P: 43.14% winners 56.86% losers -1.04 bb/100
! TA-P: 50.00% winners 50.00% losers -1.25 bb/100
Fish LP-P: 37.50% winners 62.50% losers -4.23 bb/100
Dice LA-P: 36.21% winners 63.79% losers -5.71 bb/100

Man those Elephants are kicking some ass. I guess it goes to show you what a great deal the flop is if you can limp in and see it cheap.

The thing I noticed though was that moneybags (TA-A) have the largest number of winners on all 3 sample sizes. This reinforces my belief that TA-A is the way to go to win in the long run. Even if our sample sizes suck.

[/ QUOTE ]Hi Cardzy,
If one wanted to data mine around the clock just to develop a big enough data base for a study like your making, would the PT database be able to hold it?

Also, would it be possible to auto-delete everyone from the database with less than a certain number of hands every now and then while collecting the data to make more room for the players that had over the desired minimum number of hands?

Nice job on the study...

If someone knows how to do this....PLEASE TELL! I'd love to rid my data base off the players with only 1 or 2 hands. Maybe even up to 5!
