I've been on some message boards that allow lots of personal insults and I've been on some that don't. If anything, I think this board is moderated with too light a hand. Not that kylemontero's "he sat on them" quip was ban-worthy. It wasn't. But some of the other stuff I've seen posted here (particularly whenever Annie Duke shows up) survives too long before it's deleted and the person who posted it is banned. By the time that's happened, the thread has often degenerated into a totally poker-content-free insult orgy. |

I am 5'10" 180 and I am classified as overweight on that chart, but I am just muscular. The problem with the BMI chart is that it assumes an average amount of muscle, when in fact people who have an intense workout routine might be classified as overweight on it, when in fact there are really not. It's also important to note that the fed gov recently(within the past few years) changed those definitions on the BMI chart, and overnight millions of Americans became overweight(according to the new classifications and tables). The BMI chart should not be used as a guide for determining whether or not someone is overweight or not. Kobe Bryant is 6'6" and 220, and so he would be classified as overweight on the BMI chart. Does he look overweight to you? I just wanted to add some perspective to this. |
