Folding QQ on PP !?
I open-raise (4 off the button) with QdQh. Only the Small Blind (SB) calls.
FLOP: [ 3d 8s As ]. SB checks (of course) and I bet (of course) - he calls. TURN: [ 3d 8s As ] [ 4s ]. SB bets !? I fold ?! Why isn't he going for a check-raise ? Should I have called it down ? Any comments appreciated ! Thanks, BB King's ... formerly known as the pokerplayer formerly known as Jack |

Re: Folding QQ on PP !?
Not knowing anything about the other player I think the fold is OK. If this is low limit PP then I agree even stronger. There are some very tricky players who you could call down here, but unless you think your opponent is one of them, he is playing like he made his flush.
If you have been folding to turn bets regularly though, you might have to call him down here. |

Re: Folding QQ on PP !?
Is this a tight table? If it is, he could be reading you for a possible steal; and if so then he's playing it exactly right.
I think this is pretty close between calling down and folding. The deciding factor will be your image and your perception of the small blind. I would fold if: 1. The small blind straight forward. 2. You have been calling down alot. 3. You have not been caught stealing recently. I would call if: 1. The small blind is tricky or you have seen him bluff 2. You have been folding heads up alot. 3. The open-raises you have been shown down recently have been very weak or have been mostly pocket pairs. |

Re: Folding QQ on PP !?
He probably has a single spade and was betting his new draw. Raising is usually the best play here. At the very least, you call.
Tight players (such as yourself?) are getting bluffed and semi-bluffed out of many pots by substantially weaker players. |
