Bet the River?
EDIT: I'm a MORON and choose poor examples.
Here's my real question. I have QQ and hit Qxx (two of the cards are suited) on the flop. I have 3+ people call down to the river when the river card puts three to a flush on the board. If I'm first to act, do I still bet into the pot? Would I fold for any reason? I would guess it's obvious someone has a flush if it came back to me capped. I'll try and pick better hands to post as examples next time. I hate myself. |

Re: Bet the River?
Dude.
You have a full house on the river. If villain had 88 then you lose. You played the hand well up until the river. |

Re: Bet the River?
What am I missing here. You have the 2nd best hand possible. Bet and try your best to get it capped.

Re: Bet the River?
So I realized I am an idiot and posted a hand that I thought illustrated the one I wanted, but missed entirely. I took it out and posed the question again sans example. I'm really not stupid...promise...but maybe.

Re: Bet the River?
Hey now, don't be so hard on yourself.
In the new situation you described yes, I do bet the river and I usually call a raise unless I have some specific read otherwise. If they've hit a flush, so be it, but they may have also hit something like two pair. Obviously there are several factors that come into play (pot size, is your opponent really tight or really loose/aggressive) but to answer your question generally - yeah I usually bet and call a raise. |
