In more than 20,000 hands, that's one of the biggest pots I've ever seen, much less lost. Maybe "bad beat" is the wrong term. What's it called when you're 99% sure you've got it won, and you end up losing? Ah, who knows? Maybe you're right and there's much worse to come somewhere down the road.

Where are you playing that in 20k hands, 23BB is one of the biggest you've seen? I'd work on table selection, or find some LAGs to add to your buddy list. I've been in multiple pots that are capped 3-way or 4-way to the river. Funfunfun. Biggest I've won was 43BB at 2/4.

Of course you are right, it's not technically a bad beat, since he had me beat right from the start.

One time, Entity beat my flopped Aces full with flopped quads. The scars of losing a pot that big to such a bad player will never heal.

You know I've sat with you for probably 100+ 6max hands since then, and you still haven't gotten your money back? You're way too weak against raises from me (I think I'm now sitting at 26% VPIP, 18% PFR for 6max).

But yeah, that was a sickeningly bad hand for you. I don't think I've ever had so much fun knowing that my opponent flopped Aces full. Oh yeah, call the 3-bet on the river.

Was that the 43BB pot that he mentioned in another post?

Default Re: Worst^H^H^H^H^H BEST Beat Ever

I think I put a worse beat on some unknown:

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, Hero calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 3-bets, Hero caps, MP2 calls, SB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (10.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB calls, UTG+1 raises, Hero 3-bets, MP2 calls, SB folds, UTG+1 caps, Hero calls, MP2 calls.

River: (23.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, MP2 folds, UTG+1 3-bets, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls.

Final Pot: 31.50 BB

Yes, he had JJ... I didn't figure it out until the turn check-raise, but at that point I was kinda glad that's what he had

Though in UTG+1's defense, he at least came to life on the flop, rather than the turn.

Haha, it doesn't surprise me. EVERY time your raised preflop in that 6-max game, I had absolute garbage. Not even blind-defendable, Ax or Kx type garbage.

And I knew I should have just called the 3-bet on the river, but I capped purely on principle

After seeing a friend lose $150 with 99 on a 995 flop to QQ, it's not a bad beat in my book unless it's a runner-runner perfect-perfect.
